The 148-page celebration book will tell the story of Sunderland’s 2021-22 promotion success. The A4 landscape publication is full of stunning photographs covering every game and every up and down in a campaign in which Alex Neil took over from Lee Johnson to steer Sunderland to a first ever Play-off final victory.

Over 46,000 members of the red and white army witnessed the Wembley win – the first time Sunderland supporters had been able to experience the ecstasy of Wembley joy in almost half a century – Covid having prevented fans attending when the Papa John’s Trophy was raised a year earlier. With an average league attendance of over 33,000 being way higher than any club in any division of the EFL and higher than nine of the teams in the Premier League, The Lads were backed to the hilt by the most loyal fans in the country. Thousands of them signalled Sunderland were on their way with a Trafalgar Square takeover the night before the final.
